Age statement for fests and the like: I am over 25 years old (so should be old enough for anything that has a lower age limit).

SLAVEFIC
Slavefic is a fanfiction genre in which one character is enslaved to another or has to pretend to be a slave. It usually refers to stories in which slavery is used as narrative kink, rather than historical fiction dealing with slavery accurately.

... a storyteller. I am currently working on part two of my original slavefic series. I also used to write Harry Potter fanfiction and am very determined to write it again.

Fandoms through the years:
Harry Potter - I discovered online fandom (and LJ) through HP and for that alone it will always have a very special place in my heart.
Captive Prince - So much love for Laurent and Damen and their slow progress from mutual hate to mutual respect and affection. And just love for Laurent. Every time he opens his mouth, basically. And arrgh, can we have book three now, please??
Anne Bishop's Black Jewels books - The first time ever that I developed a crush on characters from a book (it usually takes a movie). Pleasure slaves (in a 'proper' book, too), matriarchy, passion, romance, epic power struggles and the occassional bit of light-hearted humour...it has absolutely everything I could wish for in a fantasy story.
Slave Breakers - It's pretty much the classic that kicked off theorig_slavefic comm (which all by itself should probably count as my main fandom on LJ). Holden and Bran and Yves and Jer and Lee and all the rest of this wonderfully unconventional 'family' are one of my lasting go-to's for comfort reading.
Star Wars - I love the old ones; I have issues with the new ones; I am looking forward to the very new ones (despite some persisting doubt and already mourning Jacen and Jaina). And Obi-Wan/Qui-Gon fanfic rocks.
Sherlock (BBC series) - Glorious fanfiction on television. Can't wait for the new episodes.
The Lord of the Rings (books and movies) - A frequently recurring obsession. I can name all the dwarves from 'The Hobbit', recite various poems from the books, and I still get upset about movie!Faramir. Though on the other hand, Viggo Mortensen. (Honorary mention to the Hobbit movies: Martin Freeman is my perfect Bilbo Baggins. And I would kind of like to read Thranduil/Lucius Malfoy fic.)
Stargate Atlantis - The second series (after NCIS) that I got into via fanfic. It may also be my first series where I almost care more about the actual actors than the characters they are portraying (aka: much love for Joe Flanigan and David Hewlett).
Star Trek - Star Trek (TNG, DS9, VOY) was arguably my first fandom ever. I mostly enjoyed the new movies, and I definitely enjoy the fic it spawned. (Gaila!fic rules! Kirk/McCoy isn't bad either.)
Firefly - Just love it.
The Chronicles of Narnia (books and movies) - My favourite book is 'The Horse and His Boy', and I would LOVE to read some Calormen slavefic.
Discworld - They're all good, but my favourites are anything with Sam Vimes and/or Lord Vetinari, and the Witches.
NCIS - I stopped watching around season six or so and have been meaning to catch up. I'm sure it'll happen eventually. Much love for Mark Harmon and Gibbs and Gibbs-and-Tony.
Babylon 5 - I've rather cooled towards Sheridan and Delenn on rewatches, but Londo, G'Kar, Ivanova, Lennier and Garibaldi are all-time favourites. Also, there should be Centauri slavefic.
BattleTech - If anybody out there has read and liked the Stackpole and Coleman classic BattleTech books, please, please tell me, so I will have somebody to talk to about the endless possibilities for slash (and other) fanfic with all these good-looking, fit, half-naked men (it gets hot in those 'mechs) and all the political intrigue...
Apart from countless pleasant hours of reading, I owe fanfiction the discovery of my inner Slytherin, and the realisation that I am a fairly kinky person at heart. And of course it made me write down my own stories and share them with people. So thank you, all you wonderful writers, for making my world that much richer and more intense and interesting!
